March just flew right by! Happy April!
As the winner of the Global Country Star Search in my category, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Nashville for a 10-day tour! I got to sing a few bars on the world-renowned Ryman Auditorium stage and the Grand Ole Opry Stage, visited the Johnny Cash museum and Country Music Hall of Fame museum…watched Aaron Goodvin and Morgan Myles record vocals in a demo session, gained valuable info in speaking with producer Eddie Gore and songwriter Rylee Madison, visited lower Broadway where all the fabulous music venues are located including Tootsies, watched a fantastic Grand Ole Opry show where one of my favorite artists was playing – Pam Tillis as well as Cassadee Pope among many talented artists! It was a real treat to run into ABC’s “Nashville” TV Show’s Will Lexington as well as watch Vince Gill perform with the amazing bluegrass band The Time Jumpers! I met so many amazing people and had so many great experiences – this was a trip I will never forget! Feel free to view my pictures on my Facebook page! Also, our tour guide, friend, and awesome photographer documented our many memories: http://www.globalcountry.ca/photoalbum.html and http://acma.smugmug.com/Other-7/March-10-19-2014-Global/38222970_SDXpP7#!i=3157304440&k=86Qm8hK
But the real reason I went was to participate in the 2014 North American Country Music Associations International (NACMAI) singing and songwriting contest! Within our Global Country Group, we took home 15 awards! We were proud to represent Canada!
A lot of fun was had at my Richard’s Pub showcase this past Sunday! Backing me up was Darren Gusnowsky, Curtis Ebner and Brad Tebble from the amazing country band Hey Romeo! A lot of talented performers came out to perform at the jam afterwards!
I had a great time speaking with Cal Gratton from XM105 Country radio Whitecourt/Edson on March 24th! The interview will be aired on Wed. April 2nd at 1:30 PM on the program Canadian Coast to Coast! Feel free to listen online at http://www.xm105fm.com/ or on Country 105.3 FM if you’re in the area!
I hope this weather smartens up soon! Have a happy Spring!
