Hey guys! Hope 2022 has been treating you well so far! I truly hope you are staying sane throughout this Covid chaos. Usually January is dead for me, but I'm grateful that it's been actually been quite busy so I wanted to give you all an update.
Dahlia & The Villains were so happy to be performing again - at The Newcastle Pub & Grill, at Pearl Showroom at Casino Yellowhead, and also at Rogers Place where we did a pre-game show for the Battle of Alberta! My next show with The Villains is THIS WEEKEND Feb 11 & 12 for two Valentines shows at 8 PM till midnight at Bunkers Pub on Hermitage Road in Edmonton!!! $5 Cover and no more QR codes!
The Dahlia & Alan Duo performed recently at The Garage in St. Albert and at The Other Place in Sherwood Park. Our next shows there are on Fri. Feb 25th at the Garage and March 12th at The Other Place. However, we are doing a special VALENTINES day show on Monday, Feb 14th at The Newcastle Pub & Grill at 7pm. We will also be performing on Family Day Feb 21st at 1:45pm in Beaumont at Four Seasons Park.
Dirt Road Angels are songwriting again and back in the studio real soon! This year marks our 9th year together and we were nominated for the 7th time as Country Music Alberta Group of the Year and Fans Choice. The awards take place in Red Deer on March 20. Unfortunately I won't be able to go since I will be traveling back from Fort Mac from my Blackhorse gig with The Villains. We will, however, be part of this year's Jammin for a Cure on March 25th at Production World. I will also be performing a duet with Stirling John the same evening.
My Heart Tribute band BRIGADE is back in rehearsals! Our first confirmed gig is at the Ravenwood Music Festival in Sherwood Park on Sat. June 25th at 6:30 pm. Excited!
Did you know that I joined metal band SHOCKER? So far we have opened for a Kiss Tribute band, a Motley Crue tribute band, and an Alice Cooper tribute band. Our next show is opening for the same Motley Crue band on March 25th at 8PM at Shakers Roadhouse.
Speaking of Alice Cooper though - I have big news to share! I have been busy recording ... a cover and a few SOLO originals. I am SO excited to be releasing brand new music in a new genre brand new to me! On Friday, Feb. 25th, I'm going to be releasing my metal cover of the Alice Cooper single "Poison" to all digital platforms! Two weeks away and I'm so excited! https://dahliawakefield.hearnow.com/ My longtime friend and guitarist Alan Tymofichuk played guitar on "Poison". The single release party is going to take place on March 4th at Shakers Roadhouse.
Music isn't always an easy genre to make a decent living in but I've been blessed to be a part of many successful and loyal bands. I've learned to adapt to the ever-changing industry and I hope I inspire a few people along the way to pursue their dreams. Music has always been a passion of mine and I can't wait to show you my new originals! Hopefully everything will be back to normal once again and hope to see you at a gig real soon! Thank you for the support!
Love, Dahlia :)
xoxo
